ARCHIVE STYLING Vol.30
Archive Fashion Newly Defined by Stylist Shotaro Yamaguchi
The men’s collection Yohji Yamamoto POUR HOMME by Yohji Yamamoto is popular within Japan and beyond. Especially the 2017S/S season featured creations by Yohji Yamamoto which can be expressed as an explosion of the boundless freedom of this designer. There are few full-body outfits in this collection using the black that the brand is known for, and instead featured a lot of items with intense designs. These items feature text like ‘I don’t feel so good’ and ‘I get so angry at those people who leave behind masterpieces and then die early’ in Japanese and this shirt with a woman printed on a long shirt also caught everyone’s attention. This is definitely a piece that fashion lovers will continue to talk about for a long time to come. The value of items made by Yohji Yamamoto is slowly being recognized as archive items as well, so it’s not a bad idea to buy an item while the items are still new. One thing to take note of is that because the shirt has a strong impact, it might be better to combine it with simpler items. This time we mixed it with an item in the same color scheme to create a chic impression.
