The theme for COMME des GARÇONS’s collection for Spring/Summer 2019 was ‘Designing without design: to make simple’. The collection was designed with the idea to aim for a more deeper and restful approach, as to not rely on superficial design and expressions. The brand left the modern art-like objects of the past behind and aimed for an infinitely simple design without decoration. The only design was made by simple cuts made with scissors. This coat was a representative piece of this collection, being tailored beautifully with a simple, straight horizontal cut made with scissors. Around the belt, the model is wearing a nylon belt announced in the eighties. This is a rare item featuring a variety of brand tags mixed together like patchwork.
